Standards for Technology in Social Work Practice
NASW partnered with ASWB, CSWE, and CSWA to develop a uniform set of technology standards for professional social workers to use as a guide in their practices. The four associations formed the Task Force for Technology Standards in Social Work practice and jointly developed the Technology Standards in Social Work Practice.

*If the client and social worker are in different jurisdictions, the social worker should be aware of and comply with the laws in both the jurisdiction where the social worker is located and where the client is located....It is the social worker's responsibility to contact the other jurisdiction's regulatory board to determine what requirements are necessary to provide services legally in that jurisdiction.
In addition, the social worker should contact the health insurance company involved to determine whether reimbursement is available and contact their professional liability insurance to learn if coverage is available.
